Continuous Professional Development….. is proving to be a little trickier from Tenerife than from Scotland.
Those of you that know me, know that I am a serial student!! Always reading and going to courses and events to update my knowledge which I just LOOOOVE to come back and share with you all!!
I have to say though that the things I have earmarked for the next year are pretty much attendance courses in the UK… . Previoulsy I would have hopped in my car, with my tunes and the Sat Nav and driven wherever I needed to go.. In Tenerife I’d end up driving in a (kind of )circle or off a cliff!! The level of training here in English language has not convinced me to be worth the time, effort or money to invest in. And my Spanish isn’t good enough YET to train here… although ..next year…..
I need to look into some sort of frequent flyer scheme!! Oh and not tell the kids Im going back to the UK as they want to come too and visit everyone!!!
So any suggestions on how I can achieve my training desires for this year will be recieved with open ears!!

Such clarity!! At work on Sunday evening after a day of soup, raw vegeables and fruit my head is so clear, I felt more at peace at work: 2 therapy treatments and one PT session. I had LOTS of energy. Was more aware of subtle energies going on with my clients and just generally feeling great!!
I am noticing that the raw vegetables are tasting cleaner, I am really enoying my food and taking more time to eat than before.
My skin is clearer and has been commented on by a few people already. I dont have any mucousy ook in the morning and any aches and pains that I had (which weren’t really that many) appear to be away.
And I have definately lost weight. Obviously from my stomach, but also from my hips and thighs.. I made a point of stating that I wasn’t doing this water fast to lose weight but for the health benefits…but since many people are interested in the weight loss side of things.. it worked for me and I didn’t have that much fat to lose!!
Hmmm couple of new pairs of trousers for me!!! I would most certailnly do the fasting exercise again but next time, I would make sure that I can spend the week close to home relaxing and taking time for myself. There were moments of real spiritual clairty and connection…plus feelings of liberation during the 3 days I fasted. If you’re thinking about it.. I would say go for it! IF YOU HAVE ANY HEALTH ISSUES CHECK WITH YOU MEDICAL DOCTOR FIRST!!!
After realising that I wasn’t able to complete the 5 day water fast that I had planned, due to my schedule. It was time to break the fast.. The plan was to make some home made vegetable soup and eat this for, dinner and breakfast and start to add some salad and fruit by lunch time the following day.
I was stupid!! I ate garlic bread with my soup and gave myself horrible indigestion!!! So when you read/hear be careful when you break the fast!! Take heed!! Honestly I dont know what came over me, the soup was delicious and when the rest of the family started to eat Garlic Bread I didnt even think about it! DOH!
Anyway good sleep later and soup for breakfast, have got a salad ready for lunch time and am working at 5pm.. Will continue this once I see how I am today and at work!……
Well Day three of my 5 day water fast, it´s the weekend and all the family are home. I have one PT session this morning at my place so I don’t have to cart kit about anywhere. I have been usine a couple of herbal tunctures that I have in my water to help things along a little with regards to cleansing…
My tongue is yellow still, but the texture at the edges has improved, I didn´t even notice that it wasn’t smooth before!! My skin is clearer althought the larger blemishes are still there, they have reduced and become less angry. I feel ok, not hungry.. just looking forward to eating some good food.
Well after going to bed at 10 pm last night (day one) and falling asleep relatively easily. I woke this morning before the alarm with clear eyes, clearer skin and while my tongue felt a little ‘icky’ my nose was clear and I had no catarrh in my throat.
So far, I have found things relatively easy. Most of the literature I have read says the first 2 days are the hardest.. So I´m quote pleased.
So why a 5 day fast?? Well just for the record, before we go any further, it´s not about weight loss!! Over the years when I have changed my diet and eliminated various products people have invariably asked me why I was dieting… I never was ‘dieting’ I was just looking for a healthier way to be, a way that suited me and felt right.

What?? Water only?? Are you mad?? What about the….. ‘don´t leave more than 5 hours between meals’……’eat often’…..’keep your metabolism high by eating lots of small
meals’…. ‘if you don´t eat, your body will cannibalise your muscles!’….
Did I leave any nutrition ‘facts’ out?? Yeah probably but only because there are thousands and thousands and thousands of them!!
